Kyle & Lindsay’s Intimate Backyard Wedding

Intimate and backyard are two things that I love to hear when couples inquire with

me about photographing their weddings.  When I met with Lindsay and she told me about

their backyard style tent wedding with casual seating, live music and food stations for their

guests I was like YES YES YES! Count me in please.  Lindsay described her and Kyle’s laid

back personalities and how they love to laugh together and with their friends and I

just knew more and more that they were the perfect fit for me and my photography style.

They were actually quite familiar with my work as well as three of my brides were

guests at their wedding as well as a few other friends/clients and even one

instagram friend who I had never met in person. I have to say one of the things that makes

me so nervous on a wedding day is walking into groom prep, especially when I have

not previously met the groom. But I had no reason to be nervous at all cause Kyle and

his groomsmen including is son who was the best man warmly welcomed me.

They were cooperative for photos and their jokes and laid back personalities

made my time with them so easy. From there I went over to the Air B and B that Lindsay

rented for her and her girls. And the property that she rented was perfect for prep

space. It was spacious, filled with natural light and had nice light walls. I really think

more couples need to look into the idea of renting prep spaces from Air B and B they

have more space and more of a home feel then a hotel room.  I am not gonna lie, when I

walked into the apartment and saw the bridesmaids dresses my jaw literally dropped. They

were the most unique dresses that I have ever had in a wedding party and they were stunning!

And then there was Lindsay’s gorgeous blush gown!

Kyle & Lindsay got married on a family friends property just outside of Calgary. They set up a

elegant tent setting with seating placed throughout the space and food stations from

dessert to pasta to dipping. The layout encouraged guests to be up and mingling and I just

loved the vibe of the evening.

Lindsay’s beautiful bridal detailsHow about this gorgeous ceremony set up. I love this photo of Kyle’s son peaking out to see Lindsay come down the isle. Lindsay and Kyle included his son in their ceremony and each made vows to him as well. Pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in that moment. Their excitement when pronounced husband and wife was adorable.
