Thomas &Ashleys’s Okanagan Golf Course Wedding

I was a little in shock when I got my first email from Ashley asking if I would photograph

her wedding in Kelowna. I feel like I always say how special it is that couples chose me to

capture their day, but it seems extra special when they bring me to another province for their wedding.

Even with them being a province away, I was lucky that they came here to Calgary for their engagement

photos last year. It was nice to get to meet them and their daughter Alivia before the wedding day. I guess

I technically met Emerson too as Ashley was newly pregnant at their engagement session. The kids

were such a great age at the wedding cause Alivia was so so excited to be a flower girl. The photos of her

getting her dress on are filled with pure joy and happiness! And Emerson was hamming it up for the

camera when Thomas was dressing him as well. Thomas & Ashley got married at the Okanagan Golf Club

and they had their ceremony at the most stunning lake side location. You might be able to tell that I was

slightly obsessed with the flowergirl and ring bearers at this wedding. They were so cute. After their ceremony we headed

to Arrow Leaf Cellars for some photos. It was so great of them to give us permission to do some photos on

the property. We did most of them in their gardens and then just a few in the actual vineyard.

After that we got to head onto the golf course for some photos. We were so so lucky to get to do

photos on the course as alot of courses don’t allow weddings to actually do their photos on the course.

Their wedding planner brought us to the best spots, my favorite was the cute green bridge.

Alright enough from me, here are some words from Thomas & Ashley

HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET

We met at Tim Hortons, he was coming from a first aid course and I was just off work and he offered to buy me a coffee and

we just talked for a bit and then kept texting! He lived 40 minutes away so I went to see him a few times and he came out to my place .

He worked in Fort Mac at the time 24 days on 4 days off so the be inning of our relationship was a lot of texting !!!

TELL US ABOUT THE PROPOSAL

We had planned a trip to the Bahamas and he was soooo Persistent that we see a sunset from

the beach. So about our 3-4th night we walked a mile in the sand with a stroller to see the perfect sunset.

Alivia was playing on the beach In front of us and I said to tj ” it sure is a beautiful sun set” ha and he

said ” you know what else is beautiful …” And pulled out the ring and asks me to marry him

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT FROM THE WEDDING

BRIDE : My most memorable moment was when I got out of the limo and all or most of the guests were wearing the sunglasses we got as favours :)!!!

GROOM : Seeing Ashley walk down the isle towards me

WHAT ARE SOME SPECIAL ASPECTS THAT MADE THE DAY UNIQUE TO YOU

I loved that it was like a mini vaca for most of the guests so everyone stayed for the majority of the party.

So much of it was ” us” we grow our own corn strictly for popcorn kernels , everyone loved he popcorn bars.

The photo booth was a huge hit everyone is still talking about my grandma rocking out !!!!

ADVICE TO COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING

Hire a wedding planner!!!! Ours was amazing !!!! She made sure everything went smoothly and I didn’t

have to set anything up or take anything down. We showed up partied and left :)!!! It was a nice way to enjoy the

weekend and not be stressed about the little things!!!!

Seriously though….She is so darn cute! She wiped Moms kiss off her cheek

As you can see I love moments over things. I shoot your things too, but I love the little moments that tell the story of the day
