Why did you book a boudoir session?

just because I wanted to feel sexy as hell and have some beautiful

pictures of myself

Do you remember what drew you to Monica’s style ?

Monica’s style is so classy. Her work is sexy, not trashy. I find her work so beautiful!

Not to mention she is such a sweet person. Her online personality definitely

drew me in, she made me feel very comfortable and like we have been friends for ages.

How did you feel leading up to the session?

Mostly excited! I was slightly nervous, I had never done a shoot like this.

How did you feel during the session?

AMAZING! I felt so comfortable with Monica, after 2 minutes with her

I had no hesitations with stripping down I felt so empowered and sexy. I left on cloud 9!

One or two words to describe how you felt when you saw your final images?

Shocked! I never thought I could look so amazing!

If this was for a gift, what did your significant other day about your photos?

did they have a favorite pose or outfit?

It was a gift from my husband. He loved everything (how could he not lol)

but he really loved the bathtub and shower shots

Would you recommend Monica to a friend?

100%! I have recommended her to multiple people already. One has already booked

I even recommended her to my mom!

What would you say to friends thinking about doing a boudoir session?

BEST DECISION EVER! Do it, you will love every second. You will leave feeling like a

Baby Emersyn’s In Studio Lifestyle Newborn Session

I can’t handle all the cuteness with this in studio lifestyle newborn session!

When we built our home studio, I told other photographers that I was going to

offer in studio lifestyle newborn sessions. And I am not going to lie, about half of the

people I told looked at me funny. But lifestyle newborn is in clients homes…it is lifestyle.

I said yeah but I am going to offer in my space too and we will see. I offer my space to

lifestyle newborn clients and I offer these sessions in their homes as well. I leave it up

to clients. Some pick the studio as they love the light or they love the decor, some clients

are renting their current home so the space isn’t what they would like. It is 100% up to

clients. Brendan & Ali loved the light and decor in my space and their friends had also

done their lifestyle newborn photos in the studio and they loved the photos so it was an

easy choice! If you follow my work and my blog you might recognize these two. I have

photographed their engagement, wedding, maternity and now newborn! All the other sessions

are linked below as well! As much as I love capturing all these events, it is a big sad when I see my

clients at their newborn sessions as this is kinda end of the photography road for us. I do not

photograph young children. This is a skill in its own with the candid posing and the quick movement

so once babies grow I refer my clients out to friends. Just as they refer boudoir to me. This is the

perk of having talented friends and an amazing community is we all refer to each other!

Emersyn was a total model for her session. She slept almost the entire time which is kinda what you

want at newborn sessions. She is just so darn cute!

How did you hear about RBP?

I heard about RBP on instagram, stumbled upon your account and fell in love!

Why did you book a boudoir session?

I booked it for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday present.. but also.. let’s be real, more for me. 😉

Do you remember what drew you to Monica’s style ?

I love Monica’s online personality a lot. So present, authentic, kind of quirky. My favourite things.

I also love the posing and style of photos. Very elegant and classy but still sexy as hell.

How did you feel leading up to the session?

Leading up to my session, I was mainly excited. A little bit nervous about being so naked in

front of someone else, but still very excited for the experience (especially because I had read

so many amazing testimonials)

How did you feel during the session?

As soon as I walked into the session and met Monica in person, I was totally relieved. She made me

feel really comfortable and also gave me such clear directions. I loved how she posed

me throughout, I never had to worry about what to do next, and I actually never felt shy

(even though I was less than dressed haha!)

If this was for a gift, what did your significant other day about your photos?

did they have a favorite pose or outfit?

My man friend LOVED the photos. His favourite outfit was the black scrappy one, and he said he couldn’t even pick a favourite

photo (but I know he likes the tushy ones!)

Would you recommend Monica to a friend?

I would highly recommend Monica to EVERYONE. She’s fantastic and makes you feel like a Queen from

the moment you walk in, right until you leave.

What would you say to friends thinking about doing a boudoir session?

If a friend was thinking about a boudoir session, I’d tell her 100% to go for it. You’re beautiful and

enough, and you should celebrate your body and how beautiful it is, exactly how it is!

Sunrise engagement Session at Moraine Lake

Over ten years in business and this Moraine Lake session was my very very first! I had been

there quite a few times for personal trips and one time for my very own session but never

to photograph one of my own couples there.

I will be honest and say it is because I usually try to avoid these crazy busy locations with

my couples. And Moraine Lake is the epitome of a busy location. Line up down the road before

the sun even rises, the road to the lake closes before the sun rises and people everywhere…but

those view and that water. In my opinion one of the most beautiful places in the world!

My friend Jalisse and I jumped in the car at 3:00am to head to Moraine Lake for a day of shooting.

She had two of her own couples lined up for back to back sessions and I had two couples as well

scheduled for sessions. We arrived before the sun was up and we were greeted with a fresh dusting

of snow. I had never seen Moraine Lake with snow as it is closed October – May. And I can see why

cause the snow made the rock pile very slippery. I had to walk with so much caution. Not really cause I was

scared of a little slip but more that I was scared of slipping with my gear and damaging it and it ruining

the session! The snow made it extra magical. We started shooting the moment the light came up. We

hiked up the rock pile and found our own little spot. You kinda have to do this at Moraine Lake as you

are sharing this view with hundreds and hundreds of other tourists. But when you do find that spot

you feel like you are the only people there and the photos look this way too. In fact it is quite common

for couples who getting married or elope at Moraine Lake to be in utter shock over how busy it is as the

photos online look so quiet and peaceful!

Scott & Taylor’s romantic sunrise session was the perfect mix of sweet quiet romantic moments and a bit

of playful candid moments! We adventured up and down and round the rocks and then changed on the

rock pile….actually my friend Jalisse had to tell someone to give them their privacy as he was staring at

them changing ha ha. I just love this session so much! I hope it doesn’t take me another ten years to head

back to Moraine Lake for another adventure engagement session.

Some words from Scott & Taylor

How & when did you two meet? What was your first date?

We met on Tinder… We were both working downtown at the time and both swiped right!

Our fist date was a long one. It was a Wednesday after work, and we met at My Favourite

Ice Cream Shoppe (i LOVE Ice Cream). We then went on a motorcycle ride around the city,

stopping at the Grey Eagle car meet, and ended up at Bottlescrew Bills. We stayed there till last call,

about 1:30am and we both had to work the next day! We just couldn’t stop talking, and it was probably

the longest date I’ve ever had haha.

What is your favorite trip or experience you two have done together?

What made it so special?

We have to say our second annual wine trip to Penticton. Firstly, because that’s

when we got engaged! But it was also just so relaxing, and filled with wine! Penticton is

one of our favourite places, and we really hope that one day we’ll move there. We love it so much

that we make an annual trip every year now. Its so relaxing, we don’t have to be anywhere, and we spend the whole

time together drinking wine, eating pizza and hitting up the local breweires.

Current Binge Watch on your TV?

Well, with being quarantined, it changes daily haha! But anything Sci-Fi or Fantasy.

Now for fun a little game like the shoe game at weddings.

Who is the better cook?

His answer: Hahaha Me

(he actually laughed when I asked this)

Her answer: Definitely Scott

Who is the better dancer?

His answer: Taylor, by far

Her answer: Hands down, me. Scott dances like an awkward white guy 😛

Who made the first move?

His answer: Uh, Technically I messaged Taylor first.

Her answer: Scott messaged first. But I had to prod him a little for that first kiss haha

Who said I love you first?

His answer: I did, and I caught her off guard

Her answer: Scott. It happened pretty fast, and I didn’t want to scare him off haha

Who is more likely to get a speeding ticket?

His answer: Taylor has gotten more speeding tickets since we started dating. So her.

Her answer: Scott speeds way more, but he never gets caught! probably me haha.

Who is more of goof?

His answer: Depends on the day.

Her answer: We can both be goofy, but probably Scott

Who is first to get up in the morning?

His answer: Weekdays, Taylor. Weekends, Me.

How did you hear about RBP?

I heard about RBP through my friend who showed me her boudoir photos and highly

recommended you.

Why did you book a boudoir session?

I have wanted to do a boudoir shoot for a while and decided to do it for myself to feel sexy and celebrate my

body after two kids and for my 40th birthday.

Do you remember what drew you to Monica’s style ?

After my friend recommended you, I looked at your work for hours and really admired how your

pictures are both elegant and sexy. I loved the lighting, the studio, and the poses.

Also, I loved the pictures of yourself, especially the one with the doughnuts. You looked like someone fun that I would

want to hang out with and could trust.

How did you feel leading up to the session?

I was super nervous leading up to my session. I thought there was no way a fairly new mom

of two a few weeks from 40 could possibly look as good as the other women you photograph.

How did you feel during the session?

I was nervous for about the first ten minutes of my session, and then I felt incredibly sexy and empowered.

I was sad when the shoot was over because I was having so much fun!!!

One or two words to describe how you felt when you saw your final images?

Speechless, excited, ecstatic, sexy, and beautiful.

If this was for a gift, what did your significant other day about your photos?

did they have a favorite pose or outfit?

My husband said I looked stunning and “like a model” which is incredibly high praise from him.

His favourite pictures were of me on the green chair in my t-shirt and thong.

Would you recommend Monica to a friend?

I would absolutely recommend Monica (and already have)!!!

What would you say to friends thinking about doing a boudoir session?

To friends thinking about a boudoir session, I would tell them that it is an incredibly

empowering experience and that they should book one with Monica. I am usually really casual when

I’m at home with the kids and wear a uniform at work, so it was so eye opening to see that I really

am sexy and beautiful. Monica helped me find that out about myself again and it has made me

more confident. Also, Monica is incredibly relaxed and fun to hang out with so getting comfortable

didn’t take long at all. Her style is sexy and sultry, yet casual and elegant and her studio is gorgeous.

It truly was one of the best things I have done for myself and would recommend it to any woman!
