Feeling so flattered that not one but two local Calgary wedding photographers referred these two
to me for their wedding photography. Most wedding photographers are one person teams so when
we are already booked for a day we sadly have to say no to a couple. I think it is so important that when
we reply to those emails saying we are booked that we send along recommendations for them to check
out. Google search can be tricky so sending some recommendations helps couples with their search
for the perfect wedding photographer!
The first step of finding me was done and the second step was seeing if we were a good match and I knew
as soon as I met these two that they were a match. Megan was very laid back like me and Brian was all about
the details. I instantly connected to them and their vision for their day! They had this effortless connection
and they laughed together during the consultation which is always a great sign for a fun wedding day!
Their wedding day was forecasting rain all day. And rain can be tricky as there is very few indoor locations
for photos in the city. Especially in the south of the city. But we watched the forecast and hoped for the best
and the rain held off….but the mosquitos did not ha ha! I don’t think I have ever seen so many mosquiots on
a wedding day. I had OFF but it was the deep woods smelly version. So they suffered a little for the photos.
We did a first look and photos ahead of time at Fish Creek Park before heading to Sirocco Golf Club for their
beautiful ceremony. It was romantic and light hearted with a couple word fumbles.
Their reception did not lack emotions at all….tears and smiles and belly laughs. Their wedding party and
families knew how to give a good speech. The absolute best speeches are ones that everyone can connect with.
Sometimes speeches have too many inside jokes and everyone is left wanting more but not their speeches.
They were perfectly written so everyone could laugh along!
We had planned to head out for one of Sirocco’s epic sunsets but as the speeches ran a bit late we watched
the storm clouds roll in and they were black. We did make it out for a few sunset photos but only a couple
minutes worth and then it poured! They ran back to the clubhouse to avoid getting soaked ha ha!
