Brett & Charlie’s Provost Wedding
Red Bloom Photography
Ahhhhh…I live for and love shooting small town weddings. I grew up in a small
Town in Saskatchewan so anytime I get asked to shoot a small town wedding I
jump up and down with joy! There is an energy I get when I drive into these
small towns. The slow streets with barely any cars and the scarcity of amenities.
Brett & Charlie’s wedding was quite simply a perfect summer wedding. The
church they chose was stunning and we were able to use a friends property
for the photos and then we headed to an old barn (my FAV!!).
Here are some words from the couple…
Most memorable moment
Charlie: Seeing Brett wait for me at the end of the aisle, I was so excited the
waiting was over. It was perfect!
Brett: Watching Char walk up the aisle.
Special aspects that made the day uniquely us:
For our wedding we travelled home to the small Alberta town that we both grew up in,
met in and started as high school sweethearts. Both of our parents still live there,
so it really feels like “home” and we can’t help but feel the closeness and comfort from
the whole community. Our ceremony was held in a gorgeous church, now a historical site,
surrounded by overflowing fields ready for harvest.
The church ceremony was special because the priest knew us both very well and personalized it
wonderfully, as it was Brett’s uncle. We feel so lucky to have had family marry us. We also had the honour of
having Charlie’s Lutheran pastor join him, making the ceremony so uniquely us, as it was important
to have both of our faiths represented. Growing up in a prairie town, it was important to us to
have our wedding theme rustic and natural with the small town feel, highlighting the
simplicity and beauty we are surrounded with in Alberta.
Advice for people planning their wedding:
Don’t sweat the small stuff! Everything always comes together and that day you aren’t
thinking about small little details, so let it go 🙂
DIY Decor/personal touches:
Wedding DIY’s are totally worth it if you’re trying to save a few bucks, and it
gives you a chance to spend a few fun nights with friends and family, if you enlist help to do
them (Which you should!). Also, doing it yourself helps achieve the exact look you’re going for!
And now Brett & Charlie’s Wedding Story…
There is just something special about a kick ass pair of bridal shoes = )Loved this little flower girl! She was such a sweetie to have around and even a shoulder to lean on for Charlie. Wish I could have taken this chair home!Me: “Will you guys walk up this really long hill”
Them: “ummmmmm….”
Me: ” I promise it will be worth it…i have an idea!!”OH SO WORTH IT!!! One of my favorite images ever!
