Fall Engagement Session at Quarry Lake Park | Neil & Jenelle

Neil & Jenelle’s

Fall Engagement Session at Quarry Lake Park

I have so so many favorite images from this fall engagement session at Quarry Lake Park!

These two are so fricken cute and their outfits were perfect and the fall colors were totally

showing off! I first met Jenelle several years ago when she booked an boudoir session as

a gift for Neil who was living over seas. Fast forward a few years and one engagement

ring later and they booked me for their 2020 wedding! Their 2020 wedding plans

might look a little different now with COVID. A new date for their wedding but we are still

doing something special on their original date.Read a little bit about how COVID affected their

wedding date on Bronte Brides Blog . Just scroll down to Jenelle & Neil. It is about half way down

Some words from Neil & Jenelle

How & when did you two meet? What was your first date?
Jenelle and Neil met on a blind date back in 2016. Jenelle’s boss at the time and mutual friend
of the two kept insisting he had the perfect guy for her and she just had to meet him.
After some persistence and Jenelle discovering Neil was 6’1 and bearded she agreed.
For their first date they went to a now closed restaurant 80th & Ivy where they bonded over their
shared dislike of olive tapenade. They followed that up with a few stops at some local
cocktail bars finishing the night at model milk where their waiter was convinced
he could make a bourbon drink Jenelle would like… he failed, but luckily for Neil he
received many a free bourbon drinks.
Do you have all time favorite date you’ve been on? please tell me about it
We are both huge foodies, I know everyone says that, but it’s one of our favorite
things to do when we go new places. Recently we went to St John’s for the first time and had one
of the most amazing meals of our lives at Mallard Cottage. We went all out for this date
and did the chef’s like 10 course menu with wine pairings and it was so good we
wanted to cry. The cottage itself is this quaint little thing from the 18th century
located in Quidi Vidi, so it made for an intimate romantic evening filled with great food
and wine, two of our favorite things!
What is your favorite trip or experience you two have done together? What made it so special?
This is a really hard one! We are both avid travelers and have different things from
each trip that are our favorite. Our top three trips we have taken would be Croatia,
Jordan and Italy, but would have to say the one that sneaks to the top of the list is Croatia.
We spent our time in Dubrovnik and stayed at a little air bnb right in the heart of the old
city. We were surrounded by old buildings, cobblestone roads, the ocean and of course
the ancient wall surrounding the city. It was a trip we took right before our move to Turkey
and was a great way to start that chapter of our life together. Some of our favorite memories
from there are a date night at a little wine bar called D’Vino where we were sitting outside
on the cobble stone roads until a torrential downpour started flooding the streets forcing us
inside where we had to wait out the rain while drinking more wine! Another one, and quite
possibly one of Jenelle’s favorite memories of all time, was when the two took the ferry from
Dubrovnik to Lokrum and spent the day laying in the sun and jumping off cliffs into the ocean,
upon returning to Dubrovnik they got pizza and gelato and sat on these old church steps eating
their feast while a cellist played close by. In Jenelle’s opinion it was the most perfect day… and the day she wishes
Neil proposed! Instead he did it two weeks later on a rooftop in Istanbul.
If you were coming home from a day out on your own and you wanted to
surprise your significant other with a treat/drink/gift what would it be?
His answer: I would bring Jenelle Made by Marcus ice cream
Her answer: I would bring Neil a koala candy cone
Current Binge Watch on your TV?
Our taste in TV is so different! Currently watching the Crown together, but Jenelle can be
found regularly watching any season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and Neil will be watching
anything golf or football related.
Now for fun a little game like the shoe game at weddings.
Who is the better cook?
His answer: Jenelle. I am good at a few things, but don’t have much range,
so Jenelle takes the cake.
Her answer: Definitely me, however Neil can make a mean steak which I suck at.
Who is the better dancer?
His answer: Neither of us deserve to win this award.
Her answer: Oh dear lord, neither of us! Our first dance will be a disaster!
Who made the first move?
His answer: I did
Her answer: Neil 100%
Who said I love you first?
His answer: I did and then she said “I know”
Her answer: Neil, I responded with I know
Who is more likely to get a speeding ticket?
His answer: Me… not even a close comparison. Apparently,  my
riving makes Jenelle scared.
Her answer: Neil, he brought back some of his Turkey driving skills and got
a speeding ticket within the first month.
Who is more of goof?
His answer: I’m way more of a goof. Always looking for a way to make
Jenelle laugh.
Her answer: Overall I would say Neil, but I do have my moments… especially when the cuteness aggression
kicks in with the cats and I can’t control how excited I am.
Who is first to get up in the morning?
His answer: Oh my goodness, until hell freezes over it will be me 100% of the time.
Her answer: Neil… I am not a morning person, he will actually bring me coffee in bed.
