Lets talk the word “candid” when it comes to photos. Some people say candid and mean

unposed, some people say candid and they mean natural looking.  I will tell you this, nothing

about my work is unposed. It is VERY posed and usually that looks natural and sometimes it

looks candid. The thing is I pose most couples the same. I have poses that have more movement

and some that are more still. The ones with more movement is where the more candid playful

emotions come out. This part is all in my couples. They need to have fun with it, bring their

relationship and connection to the session and that is exactly what these two did.

You see it more in Michelle’s expressions cause Eric kept quietly making her laugh.

She said that at home they are always laughing and they are not a very serious couple.

And you can see that in these photos! So I pose and give directions but sessions vary

couple to couple on how they interact with each other!

The number one piece of advice I would give any couple doing a photoshoot is to trust your

photographer, listen to their posing prompts and connect both playfully and romantically.
