From first email these two hooked me with saying their wedding was on a private family estate. But then I

googled the estate as it was listed for sale and I was crossing all of my fingers to get to photograph their wedding

at this gorgeous property. It was an extra bonus that it was a super special place to the family.

This was my first wedding in 2020 that was a Covid wedding. After ten years shooting weddings it was a little

surreal to show up with a mask in my fanny pack and hand sanitizer in my camera bag. But besides mask and

sanitizer stations and some social distancing seating arrangements you would never guess that this wedding

was in the middle of a pandemic. It was about love and connection and a marriage and it was beautiful!

One things I learnt from 2020 weddings is that love wins! Couples said I do with new rules and restictions

in place and their friends and family came together to celebrate them.

Some words from T & S

How did you guys meet ?
We met in 9th grade and we began dating shortly before our middle school 9th grade grad.
You could say we were high school sweethearts because we have been together ever since. 


Please share the proposal story with us?
It was our 10 year dating anniversary and we decided to take a trip to one of our favourite places
in Alberta, Banff! On the day of our anniversary we took a walk down to bow river falls.
It was the perfect setting for a proposal.


Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Bride – The most memorable moment from our wedding day had to be the fireball shot
conga line! So fun!! Turns out it’s a wedding family tradition on the grooms side. I love
crazy traditions. So awesome!
Groom- Definitely the ceremony. Watching my bride walk down the isle with her
dad was so special.
Tell me about the special aspects of your day that made it
unique to you two?
There was so many moments and things that we think made our wedding unique. The location
our amazing MC and his rapping skills, the midnight lunch food truck, etc. etc.
It truly was the best day. So much fun!
Besides making the choice to marry each other, what was the easiest decision
you made for your wedding? What made it so easy?
To have it outdoors at the beautiful Kettle Lake Ranch. Although we knew it was a risk
weather wise, it was a super easy decision for us. We couldn’t have imagined our wedding
anywhere else because the property is so special to the family. We were prepared for rain but we lucked out
and had the most gorgeous weather!!
What was the most difficult, time consuming choice that you made for your
wedding day? And advice to couples on this?
Deciding the events and the sequence of the events for our wedding day. Everyone had
a different idea of when and what should happen on our wedding day, which was very stressful for us.
Our advice is to do what YOU want! It’s your day!! You run the show.
Advice to couples planning their wedding day?
Do your research on all vendors! Read the reviews, look at all of the vendor
websites thoroughly, and most importantly – ask for recommendations!!! I truly believe we picked the most
perfect vendors because we took our time in doing so. We were diligent and never settled!
