Tim & Samantha’s Tunnel Mountain Reservoir
& Buffalo Mountain Lodge Wedding

It isn’t very often that I meet a couple the day of their wedding, but it was the
case with Tim & Samantha. They were planning a destination wedding in Banff from
several hours away so we chatted on the phone and then met in person the day of the
wedding. It is kinda funny when this happens cause I walk in the room and I am like
where is the bride?!? Sometimes it is is obvious cause they already have their veil in but
it was not the case for this wedding. But at first meeting Samantha welcomed me like
we had been best friends for the past year since she hired me! Tim & Samantha got
married at the beautiful Tunnel Mountain Reservoir in Banff and had their reception at the
Buffalo Mountain Lodge. I have shot at both of these locations before and they never disappoint.
As Sam was getting ready, people were watching the storm clouds roll in and we were
hoping it wouldn’t rain on them during the ceremony. Luckily it did not. The rain held off
for their outdoor ceremony. After the ceremony we headed out for photos and it did rain
a little bit during photos so we used the umbrellas at the first location to keep hair and
makeup looking great. Just as we were leaving the first location it poured! Like full
on drenched us…well the parts of us that weren’t under the umbrellas. We took this
time to drive to the next location and by the time we got there it was hot and sunny. But
it actually worked in our favor, cause the rain drove alot of the tourists away from the
popular photo spot. So yay for more room to shoot ha ha. People in Banff are always so
great with Weddings. They will happily step aside and enjoy the view from a little
further back to allow couples to have their photos done. And when we took the photos on the
dock, we asked about 15 people to step aside and they happily did. So thanks to
everyone that was so accommodating to us that day!
Here are some words from Tim & Samantha
How did you guys meet ?
I took a part time job working at a liquor store where Tim was the assistant manager. We decided to start dating once I moved away for fall semester of school.
Please share the proposal story with us?
Tim surprised me with a trip to Sam Diego. He proposed on “sunset cliffs” at sunset.I knew he was acting strange but I though It was because he was uncomfortable withsitting high up on the cliff edge. I turned around from taking a picture and he was there with the ring!

Tell me about the special aspects of your day that made it unique to you two?
Having all our friends and family in banff to share our special day was very important to us.
Have fun and focus on making it an enjoyable time for everyone. Try to realize that at leastone thing won’t go according to plan but that’s fine and it will all come together in the end.
