Ahhhhhh….intimate acreage weddings are my fav!!!! There is something so special about

photographing a wedding in a setting that is near and dear to the couple and a place

that holds so many special memories to the people involved in the wedding.

Below are some words from these sweet newlyweds = )

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Bride: Actually seeing Darc cry <3 I was already a mess as soon as my entrance music started playing,

but when I looked up to see him waiting for me at the end of the aisle with tears in his eyes,

well then, I was really a mess!! Lol
Groom: Probably the ceremony, when I saw her walking down the aisle

Tell me about the special aspects of your day that made it unique to you two?:

We got married in a place that we’ve spent almost every Sunday for the last 6 years,

very special place to us <3 And then on the day we got married we were officially together for lucky 7 years : )

The acreage belongs to Darcy’s mom and stepdad, and they were absolutely wonderful about letting

us create a wedding space that we truly loved for our day : ) Along with our own two fur children

Nibby and Sunny, we even had all our other four legged furry family out and about wandering, playing with

and greeting the guests after dinner!! It was a huge thing for us to be able to have our dogs with us for our wedding day <3

Guests told us they loved how laid back and intimate it was which is exactly what we wanted : )

Advice to couples planning their wedding day?:

Enjoy the ride, everyone told us not to stress about the little things and they were

absolutely right : ) Remember that it’s your day at the end of it all and that what matters is you’re

married once everything is said and done!! And work together to do what YOU want to do for YOUR wedding day : )

We found that the workload was pretty much cut right down in half when both of us were involved. We

designated jobs toeach other that the other was interested in and voila!! For example, Darcy is

the one interested in photography so he did all the research and found us an amazing photographer ; )

While Hazel dealt with florals and home made touches because she’s crafty and

enjoys those things. Worked out great for us!!

DIY wedding decor tips:

Work with what you have! Us being married on an acreage gave us the opportunity to

take advantage of an already beautiful backdrop, so we were actually really lucky there : )

We used the florals and foliage around us for some decor, we decorated little pathways with

photos hung with clothes pins on branches and trees, we made hand painted signs out of old

wood and used old mason jars to hang flowers in the trees as well. If you love something or have

a creative side go for it!! It’s your wedding!! Hazel also loves painting so each of the invitations

were hand painted with water colour for our guests.
