As I go over this wedding getting ready to blog it, it brings back all the amazing memories I have

from shooting this wedding. These two are easily one of the most chill couples that I have ever worked with.

From the moment they booked me through to their fwinter (fall meets winter) mountain engagement

session and then their wedding day.  Everything was just all good vibes and good happy people.  They had their

wedding at Stewart Creek Golf Course which is a beautiful venue that I have shot at before. After their ceremony

we went close by for some portraits and their wedding party even left to go get them some pizza! What an

amazing crew of friends. Their timeline was quite cushioned so they had some to sit and eat and then

finish off their mountain top picnic with a champagne toast!

Here are a few words from the bride & groom

How did you guys meet?
We met through a mutual friend Molly. Molly brought Kelsey to my Uncle Ed’s farm. Molly is my Uncles
Niece. From there we flirted and hit it off. When I moved to Edmonton to go to school in the fall I asked
Kelsey to go out with me on a date at Starbucks. We spent three hours flirting and getting to know each
other and have been together ever since.

Please share the proposal story with us?
I took Kelsey to Jasper for our seventh year dating anniversary for a weekend getaway. I surprised her
with the question at Athabasca falls!

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Bride –For me, the most memorable moment of our day was the moment the song I was walking down
the aisle came on and I saw Michael. Everyone else around me had become a blur and my complete
focus was on us.
Groom – The most memorable moment for me was when Kelsey walked through the doors, and down
the aisle with her father Gary. She looked so beautiful in her dress I was overcome with emotion.

Tell me about the planning aspects of the day that made it personal to you. 
It was important for us to have our wedding outside. We picked the mountains because we love the
outdoors. Every chance we get we try to do outdoor activities whether it is taking the dog to the dog
park, hiking, fishing, boating or lounging on a patio.

Besides making the choice to marry each other, what was the easiest decision you made for your
wedding? What made it so easy?
The venue. We loved it right away. It took us a little bit to find the perfect venue, but the moment we
walked in to the Stewart Creek and met with the John and Sarah, the venue coordinators, we both
looked at each other and knew this was the place we would get married.

What was the most difficult, time consuming choice that you made for your wedding day?

And advice to couples on this?
For us, picking songs for specific moments throughout the day was difficult. It was a tough task for us as
there were not any songs that stuck out to us as ones that we had to have played during our day. We
wanted songs that reflected us as well as our personalities and how we wanted our day to go. At the
start of wedding planning we did not think this would be a difficult decision. Our advice for other people
planning their big day would be to start thinking of the smaller tasks sooner than later.

Advice to couples planning their wedding day?
Take your time planning. We ended up taking almost two years to plan our wedding. There is a lot to
think of, especially if you are not hiring anyone else, to research different vendors, arrange meetings,
think of the small aspects that go into the day, etc. At the beginning it seemed as though we had a lot of
time to plan our day, but it goes by very quickly, and if you are planning on having your wedding in
Canmore, vendors get booked up very far in advance!
