Nolan & Jana’s Silvertip Resort Wedding

When you plan the most perfect fall themed wedding and it turns into a winter wedding,

you put a smile on and roll with it cause thats the story of your day!  Nolan & Jana with the

help of Kelsey from White Copper Weddings planned a stunning fall wedding at

Silvertip Resort in Canmore.  Perfectly planned & decorated with pumpkins lining

the ceremony isle and the perched on the famous fireplace at Silvertip.  Can’t forget those

tiny mini pumpkins on the table and those sequin table linens. These details were nothing

short of fall elegance.  Nolan & Jana made the call to move their snowy fall wedding from Silvertips

gazebo indoors into an equally beautiful room.  As the wet snow fell in chunks their guests sat

warm and dry through their intimate vows.  But like all of my adventurous couples they didn’t

even think about doing their photos indoors. We headed straight outside for all of their

formal photos. Jana’s bridemaids trekked through the wet snow in their sparkling shoes and

with the help of a cute grey blanket they kept some shivers at bay. Alright enough blabbing from me

here are some words from the Bride & Groom
How did you guys meet ?

Nolan and I met through mutual friends that set us up. Nolan was on call that night we were

meeting so he was on his phone a good 95% of the time. So we didn’t really talk, our friends Tim and

Emily whom were both in our wedding party decided this was not good enough. They “lied” to us saying to

Nolan “ Jana is interested and wants your number” “ Nolan is asking for your number can I give

it to him” us being giddy from potentially meeting our forever we didn’t think anything of it until

months later when we were officially dating.

Please share the proposal story with us?

We joke about it now and say I planned the proposal. Nolan was working away in the field

and I was at home missing him, stressing about not having a job I called Nolan and said I know

you’ve been away for the last few weeks, but could we go to Canmore for the night when you get home just

to relax just the two of us? Nolan agreed and that Wednesday November 11^th we headed out to Canmore not knowing

our forever was getting that much closer. We checked in our hotel, got changed and headed to Silvertip for a delicious

5 course date night dinner they hold every Wednesday. We ate our faces off and had a delicious bottle of wine,

it was nice night out so Nolan suggested we go for a walk. I thought he never wants to go for a walk

I am going to take the opportunity because it may never happen again (haha) as we are walking Nolan

asked for us to take a selfie so we stopped at a perfect little spot on the creek and took a quick

picture and I turned to continue walking because by that time I was FROZEN! Nolan yelled out “wait” so I

turned around and he was on down on one knee with the a box and a ring, he says

I jumped around in 10 circles before I stopped and said yes!

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Bride-oh boy, there was so many moments for starters my amazing husband surprised me with

the best wedding present (sorry to anyone getting married soon) he bought me a puppy!

The genuine love that filled that room that day will never be forgotten, from Nolan’s

vows to the  support of our family and close friends.
Groom– For me, it is not one specific moment, but the smile on Jana’s face throughout

the ceremony, pictures, supper, speeches and our first dance. She was so happy!

Tell us about the special aspects of your day that made it unique to you two?

Our wedding was on thanksgiving long weekend so we decided to have the biggest thanksgiving dinner we will ever host.

Advice to couples planning their wedding day?

Enjoy every moment of it from day 1 of the engagement. It goes by really fast, do not sweat the small things.

Take time to soak it all in with each other.

 Such a stylish groom…loving these shoes! I always tell my clients to wait to open gifts from each other or to gift their wedding party their gifts until I am there. I love capturing these moments. Adding his new watch to his stylish wardrobe Just a little man on man prep help before a shot to calm the nerves! This excitement is the best way to start my day! Smiling ear to ear! She was so excited! Jana’s make by Evanescence Weddings was flawless! If you really follow my work you will recognize this bridesmaid and this gift. Justine got married in September and her and Jana both bought their bridesmaids these hanky’s ha haWhen the light is absolutely perfect as she grabs her dressThe famous Silvertip fireplace with stunning details by White Copper WeddingsI loved how he used this prop completely hand carved with one piece of wood to give words of wisdom on marriage. Winter weddings are so beautiful. Ahhhhh So pretty!!! And that bouquet. Always opt for a big bouquet. If that means using more greens then go for it!
