The thing with the mountains is you can’t really ever trust the weather forecast. More

often then not it is quite wrong. It will be rainy when Weather Network said it is sunny or

Sunny when it says it is raining and in this case CRAZY windy when it says light wind! But

with photoshoots in the mountains you are there for the views so no hiding and most couples

make a really nice date night out of it. She often gets her makeup done and then often plan

a nice meal together after and quite often even spend the night in the mountains too. So

once we are there we are committed, rain, shine, wind, snow ha ha!

We started this session in their dressy outfit. And focusing on the fall colors and trying to

stay out of the wind a bit. I knew that they had two outfits and one was more casual so it was

an easy choice to do the casual more in the open in the wind and the dressy a little more

sheltered. I say sheltered but we had to shoot between dust clouds and wind that nearly

knocked us over haha. I think I was cleaning sand out of my teeth for days ha ha.

But in saying all that about the wind, I absolutely loved the movement that it gave to the

photos and the lighting was amazing with some dust in it.

Also when we got to the second outfit I told them these poses would be more candid and

playful as super posed with hair flying everywhere just would not match. So I love the mix

of romantic and candidly posed photos. Which is exactly what my style is.

How & when did you two meet? What was your first date?

Jonathon and I met in Arizona where we had to travel to attend a mutual friends wedding.

At the time Jonathon and I did not know each other, however we both were friends with the bride

and groom! We just so happen to both be seated side by side at the same table for dinner at this wedding.

This was April of 2016. Jonathon had asked me to lunch during this trip to Arizona however I kind

of bailed on him due to not feeling well after one to many drinks the night before, so once back in Calgary

we had our first date at Anejos! We ate, drank and laughed. Then Jonathon showed me around

Calgary and showed me where he grew up. As the night went on we just seemed to vibe, the conversation

was good and the laughs were better. And almost 5 years later here we are, engaged

and planning our wedding!

Do you have all time favorite date you’ve been on? please tell me about it

Honestly, we are having a hard time picking one! Sometimes our go to

date night at home is picking out wine, fancy meats and cheese to make a charcuterie board.

Then we listen to music and play sequence (it’s a board game we like haha) and we just get to relax

and be ourselves around each other.

What is your favorite trip or experience you two have done together? What made it so special?

One of our favourite trips we’ve done together was when we went to Italy together. We

had talked about it for so long and finally made our way there! This trip was so special to us

because we love to try new foods, see the sights and drink in all the culture. It was romantic

and exciting with amazing views and great food.

If you were coming home from a day out on your own and you wanted to

surprise your significant other with a treat/drink/gift what would it be?

His answer: I would bring home a pastry from La Boulangerie

Her answer: I would bring him a candle from bath and body works. He always likes to light a candle

even if we are just watching a movie.
