Brendan & Jamie’s Tunnel Mountain Reservoir Wedding
Red Bloom Photography
My blog has been a brat the last few days while I was trying to get this wedding up and it is still be glitchy.
So I have written and lost this blog post 3 times now and its only letting me upload some of the photos.
While I fight with technology I will let you view what I can get up of this lovely Rocky Mountain Wedding.
And cause I lost my write up three times already I am going to leave the writing to the newlyweds.
Please share the proposal story with us?
Jamie: Brendan suggested that we go for a hike, and I decided we should hike up my favorite mountain
in Banff, Cascade Mountain. We got up bright and early, had Tim Hortons for breakfast, drove up to
Banff, and began the long hike up. I should have thought something was fishy because Brendan was
hiking at a pace I could keep up with! When we got closer to the summit, Brendan rushed ahead and I
was about 2 minutes behind him. As soon as I reached the top, Brendan took my hand, went down on
one knee and asked me to marry him. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect proposal!
Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Bride: My most memorable moment of the day was hearing Brendan read his personal vows. He
promised to always be my adventure buddy, which was something I included in my vows. It was really
sweet.
Groom: The most memorable moment for me was watching Jamie walk down the aisle. I’ll never forget
the harp playing as she walked out surrounded by our friends, family and the mountains!
Tell me about the special aspects of your day that made it unique to you two?
We included the hand-fasting ceremony as our unity portion of the ceremony. We used a scarf with the
Clark tartan to make the knot. We had never seen a hand-fasting ceremony, and I think it was a very
special aspect to include on our wedding day.
Besides making the choice to marry each other, what was the easiest decision you made for your
wedding? What made it so easy?
The easiest choice for the wedding was choosing the ceremony space at the Tunnel Mountain Reservoir.
Once we saw it, we knew it had to be the place!
What was the most difficult, time consuming choice that you made for your wedding day? And advice to
couples on this?
The most difficult choice was choosing our reception venue, the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort. We went
to many different venues in Canmore & Banff, and it took quite a lot of time and thinking to finally make a
choice. We urge couples to look early, research well, and ask good questions to the hosts. We weren’t
disappointed, and it’s because we invested the time and energy to get what we wanted!
Advice to couples planning their wedding day?
I would recommend looking at the reviews of venues and vendors – most people are very honest about their
experience and it helps alot to see the good and the bad.
I just adore their first look! When the sun hits that blue water it really is stunning! That mountain behind them is where they got engaged
